Woman hospitalized after being hit by vehicle in San Jose

A woman suffered life-threatening injuries when she was hit by a vehicle in San Jose.

The woman was hospitalized around midday Sunday after a vehicle collided with her at the intersection of 11th Street and E Santa Clara Street, which is about two blocks from the San Jose State University campus, according to the San Jose Police Department.

Officers closed off several roads in the area while investigating the crash, police said.

The circumstances of the crash were not immediately clear, and police did not release any further information about the wreck or the woman who was hit.
