In this article, you will get all information regarding ‘Shazam!’ 2 Post-Credits Scenes: What They Are – World Time Todays

[Editor’s note: Spoilers ahead for both “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” and its post-credits scenes.]

Well, here’s a pickle. Generally, when we write about the post-credits scenes that close big blockbusters, the intent is to a) explain them in their current context and b) posit how they might impact their franchises in the future. Normally that’s a simple question, but given the current state of the DC Universe, trying to explain how the two post-credits scenes in David F. Sandberg’s Shazam! Fury of the Gods fits into a cinematic universe that may no longer encompass the warm-hearted teen superhero, and his bright family feels mighty complicated.

Before James Gunn and Peter Safran officially restart the DC Universe with the release of Gunn’s own Superman: Legacy in 2025, there are still a handful of DC films primed for release. These films, including Shazam! Fury of the Gods was developed as part of the previous franchise structure that is no longer in the game.

So what does this mean for two post-credits scenes that hint at ties to a franchise that Shazam and Fam may no longer be involved with? Alright, let’s check.

[One more time: Spoilers ahead for both “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” and its post-credits scenes.]

Sandberg’s film ends with a happy victory for Shazam and the rest of his superheroic siblings, after defeating the Daughters of Atlas, saving Philadelphia (and the universe itself), and seeing Shazam (Zachary Levi and Asher Angel) actually bring it back from the dead will after the final battle. It’s a good ending to the charming sequel, and one that could easily serve as a series ending or as part of a growing series.

It’s also all about the essential theme of the two “Shazam!” movies: It’s a win because Shazam And His family won the day. Which makes that first post-credits scene seem odd indeed.

1. Would you like to join a team? (No, no that)

While we last left Shazam and Fam in the Realm of the Gods where they a) had planted a new Tree of Life, b) had a funny encounter with Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), and c) a fallen Shazam/ Billy Batson is one of the Dead back, the first post-credits scene begins in…a random forest?

There we find Suicide Squad and Peacemaker characters Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) and John Economos (Steve Agee) walking through the woods on their way to a meeting personally arranged by their boss, Amanda Waller trudge Sounds important! When they bump into Shazam, he’s dizzily slamming at an abandoned gas station (in the middle of the woods again?) and generally enjoying his powers (big shades of the first “Shazam!” movie here).

“Shazam! wrath of the gods”

Warner Bros.

Introducing Shazam, they quickly get down to business to offer him a spot on “Justice—” (fans will know they’ll say “Justice Society,” but Wonder Woman-crazy Shazam jumps to the spiffier idea, thinking that they ask him to join them justice league). Of course, he immediately says yes before realizing that the duo is only asking to join the superhero group led by Black Adam.

A pity! But in witty Billy Batson fashion, he’s soon berating Harcourt and Economos for some alternative names they could try for their old company, all the better to avoid that confusion again. As he scrolls through synonyms for “justice,” he lands on, oh, ha ha, the Society of Avengers.

Harcourt and Economos take off. Shazam remains unaffiliated with any other superhero groups for now.

2. An old villain, uh, sprouts again

Hey, remember the first post-credits scene from the first Shazam! movie? Of course you do!

While this scene hinted at the formation of the Monster Society of Evil, it clearly didn’t translate into the second film. Presumably Sandberg and co are hoping they can adapt it for a possible third film though, as the second post-credits scene in Fury of the Gods takes us straight back to Dr. Sivana (Mark Strong) and his throws prison cell, still covered in scrawled symbols, are still deeply grim to behold.

And again, the defeated villain is greeted by the evil tiny caterpillar Mister Mind, who sneaks into the cell Once again Tell the evil doctor he has a plan.

No surprise dr. Sivana is upset that he’s back where he started (although it’s a funny touch for fans of the first film) since his future depends on the machinations of a very clever, very slow bug. But while the pillar promises something is to come, he has one more thing to attend to by sneaking out of the cell while Dr. Sivana (and other fans of evil deeds) get stuck. Brutally.

“Shazam! Fury of the Gods is in theaters now.
