In this article, you will get all information regarding Servant Series Finale Recap – Ending Explained [Spoiler] dies – World Time Todays
Finally Dorothy knows the truth. But what is she going to do about it now?
After last week’s wild penultimate episode servant, Dorothy was awakened from her deception and trauma when Sean and Julian forced her to remember what happened to the real Jericho. But when the supernatural Leanne offers her the ultimate Faustian bargain – she really will bring Jericho back to life this time if she can stay with them – Dorothy is stunned.
Leading up to Friday’s series finale, Dorothy asks for a moment alone with Leanne. She asks the nanny, “What are you?” Leanne replies, “It doesn’t matter. I’m yours.” (I’d like to argue that after four slow-burning seasons, IT SO IS IMPORTANT. But OK.)
Leanne goes to the roof and considers throwing herself off the building, but Dorothy stops her. “It was the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me,” says Dorothy through tears. “I would have given anything to have him one more minute and you gave it to me Months with him. But this pain I feel now. That’s also part of my love for him. I need to feel it.”
Leanne asks Dorothy if she is angry, but Dorothy assures her she is not. Leanne counters, admitting that she heard her parents scream as the fire burned down her childhood home, but she did nothing to help them. “For the first time in my life, I was happy because I wanted them to die,” she says. Then Uncle George brought her back even though “I didn’t deserve it”.
Dorothy tells her that she would have been so proud to have a daughter like Leanne as the storm around her worsens. As they talk, three cult members lurk outside in the rain.
As the Turners prepare to escape the flood, they welcome Leanne back into their family. But out on the front steps, Leanne says she has to go get something Uncle George left her. She goes inside and pulls the knife out of dead George’s eyeball. She douses the apartment with gasoline, climbs the windy stairs and drops a lit match on the first floor. The first thing that lights up is the doll.
She lies in her bed and calls Tobe, makes a date with him who she knows will never happen. Her soft smile is absolutely heartbreaking…because at this point we know Leanne never leaves the brownstone. Outside, the cult members tell the Turners that Leanne had to do this alone. You’ve tried to defeat her before, but she chose to “save us all.”
Inside, Leanne puts on a record and dances before pouring perfume in her eyes (ouch) and slitting her arms. (Odd song choice here in my opinion. The song is “Somewhere in the Wild” by Saleka and I can’t say I’m a fan of its placement here. Especially at such an emotionally pivotal moment.) Leanne whirls around to reach the fire the top floor. She begins to burn as the ground collapses beneath her.
The next morning, Dorothy is reunited with the officer who was there the day her son died. Officer Reyes tells her a story about how she died in a car accident. The cult resurrected her and gave her the task of babysitting one of her sisters… Leanne.
It wouldn’t be an M. Night Shyamalan project without one final WTF moment. Reyes will speak to Julian at some point in the near future. She reminds him of his season 2 overdose. She knows that Leanne resuscitated him. “When you get a second chance, it has a purpose,” she says. “We’ll be here when you’re ready to talk. We’re family now.” Julian watches in horror as cult members turn his way across the street. When he looks at his reflection in a shop window, a pair of wings appear with his reflection. He turns and sees a mural of a bird and a worm painted on a building behind him. Is he also a fallen angel now? Will he eventually join the Church of the Lesser Saints? He then utters the last two words of the series: “Oh, s–t.”
