Nicola Cross, 37 years old, was killed in the comfort of her own home in September of 2015. During a terrible night, Marcin Porczynski, who she had never met, stabbed her in the chest inside of her own home.

Marcin Porczynski Charged With Killing Nicola Cross

Nicola Cross had never met or even heard of Marcin Porczynski before. On September 14, 2015, he broke into the house where Cross lived in Grovehill Hemel.

After grabbing a massive knife from the kitchen, Porczynski headed upstairs to investigate. After a while, he switched to a larger knife from the smaller one that he had been using initially. After that, he went into the bedroom and began stabbing Cross with the knife over ten times while she valiantly attempted to protect her children.

Nicola Cross passed away as a result of her life-threatening injuries, whereas Porczynski did not physically hurt her children in any way.

Dan Cross had business obligations that required him to be elsewhere when the attack occurred.

After Porczynski smashed his way into the house while in a psychotic state, Nicola called Dan to report the incident. After this, Dan was finally able to listen to some of the horrific event that had taken place. He could do nothing but listen helplessly as Nicola begged the person who had murdered her. After a few minutes, there was complete silence on the other end of the telephone line.

Following the event, Porczynski was placed under arrest and charged with manslaughter. The alleged murderer stated that he had heard voices telling him to “save” the children who had been mistreated. In the end, it became abundantly clear that Porczynski was suffering from a mental illness that is referred to as “schizophrenia.”

Who Is Marcin Porczynski?

Marcin Porczynski, a Polish auto mechanic, is the person responsible for the death of Nicola Cross. His country of origin is Poland, and he formerly called the same neighborhood that Cross did home.

Schizophrenia is a mental condition in which people interpret reality in a distorted manner, and this was determined to be Porczynski’s diagnosis. As a result of the condition, he experienced hallucinations, delusions, and disordered thinking on a regular basis. Despite this, the signs and symptoms of the disease can be extremely different from one individual to the next.

Marcin had already exhibited strange behavior prior to stabbing Nicola, which occurred three weeks earlier. He and his friends had engaged in a considerable amount of conversation regarding fictitious events.

Following the murder of Nicola, Porczynski was under the impression that he had succeeded in rescuing the children from starvation.

Marcin’s blood contained detectable amounts of both cocaine and cannabis, which led to his arrest. On the other hand, there was no connection between the two events.

Where Is Marcin Porczynski Now?

Marcin Porczynski was placed in indefinite hold at a mental health facility. He had initially denied being responsible for the murder, but it was later proven that he was guilty of manslaughter.

At the St. Albans Crown Court, Judge Andrew Bright QC handed down the verdict that resulted in Porczynski’s conviction.

Bright said, “Even though Nicola tried to reason with you and heroically did her best to protect herself and her two young kids from you, she was completely defenseless against the vicious knife attack you then launched upon her.” Nicola had tried to reason with Bright and had done her best to protect herself and her two young kids from Bright.

After Nicola’s passing, Dan Cross’s life, along with the lives of his two children, was turned upside down. In a statement, he claimed that he and his wife had been married for 11 years but that their “almost sickeningly beautiful” life had been destroyed as a result of the situation.

In 2018, Dan Cross shared his harrowing experience on the Channel 4 show SAS: Who Dares Wins. In order to become a peer supporter for other families going through similar situations, he is currently going through training with Victim Support to become qualified for the role.
