US media say that Lance Reddick, who played a police officer on the popular HBO show The Wire, has died at age 60.

Reddick was also known for playing Charon in the action-thriller John Wick movie series.

His publicist said the musician and actor died suddenly of natural causes at his home in Los Angeles on Friday.

His publicist, Mia Hansen, said, “Lance will be missed very much.” “At this time, please give his family their privacy.”

Reddick was in the middle of a publicity tour for the fourth John Wick movie, which is set to come out on March 24.

He will also be in the new movie Ballerina, which is a spinoff of John Wick and will star Ana de Armas.

Reddick, born in Baltimore, has been an actor for 25 years and has been in over a dozen movies and TV shows.

In the John Wick movies, he played Charon, the hotel concierge at The Continental Hotel, a crime hub in New York City. He was in the first movie, its first two sequels, and will also be in the fourth one.

The actor was also known for his breakout role as Baltimore police lieutenant Cedric Daniels in The Wire, a show that ran from 2002 to 2008 and looked at the drug scene in Baltimore from the point of view of law enforcement, drug dealers, and drug users.

Reddick told the Guardian in 2010 that he thought the show would be a “hit,” but he didn’t know it would “become this phenomenon.”

The actor was in the Netflix series Resident Evil and the sci-fi action movie Godzilla vs. Kong.

He was also known for doing voice work, such as for the TV show Rick and Morty.

Reddick got his bachelor’s degree in classical music from the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester in New York. He then went to the Yale School of Drama to study acting.

He was nominated for a SAG Award in 2021 for his part in the movie One Night in Miami, along with other cast members.

The actor’s wife, Stephanie, and his two children, Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick will miss him.

In 2009, Reddick told the Los Angeles Times that he felt “at heart” like an artist.

“When I went to drama school, I knew I was at least as talented as the other students, but I knew I would have to work my tail off to be the best I could be because I was a black man and I wasn’t pretty,” he said at the time.

Two years ago, Reddick’s co-star on “The Wire,” Michael K. Williams, who played Omar, died of an overdose. Four people were charged with selling the drugs that Williams took before he died. This happened last year.
