Héma-Québec reaches deal with Quebec City union

Héma-Québec has reached a deal in principle to renew a collective agreement with its Quebec City nurses’ union.

The blood services agency and the Fédération de la santé et des services sociaux union confirmed the news on Friday, which affects 80 union members.

The other union, affiliated with the CSQ federation, has 128 members in the Montreal area. Its representatives were in talks Friday but had not yet reached a deal.

The Quebec City union, affiliated with the CSN, will submit the proposal to members during a general meeting on Sunday. Details are not being announced until members have seen the contents of the deal.

The two unions formed an alliance for negotiations. The main issue was pay parity with public-sector nursing staff.
