According to reports, Paul “Pablo” Severtson, a paraprofessional at Cherry Creek West Middle School, has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.

According to CBSNews, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office arrested Cherry Creek High School’s softball coach today on felony criminal solicitation charges.

During the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office discovered that Severtson was attempting to persuade his victim to create and send him nude photographs and videos.

Paul “Pablo” Severtson, 37, was a paraprofessional at Cherry Creek West Middle School and a small group of Cherry Creek Elevation students.

Severtson has coached the Cherry Creek High girls’ softball team and the Colorado Styxx girls’ softball club. In addition, he coached at Heritage High, Littleton High, and Chaparral High Schools from November 2017 to August 2020.

Severtson was found attempting to persuade his victim to produce and send him naked images and videos of herself.

In March 2022, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office received notification from the Hanover County, Virginia, Sheriff’s Office that an underage girl had committed suicide. Investigators later discovered she had been communicating with Paul “Pablo” Severtson.

A team of ACSO Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigators conducted a search warrant at Pablo Severtson’s home on July 20. As a result, the accused arrested him and took several pieces of evidence from his home.

Before his employment, Severtson was subjected to a criminal background check as well as reference checks, according to Cherry Creek Schools. However, Cherry Creek claims that the process posed no problems.

The school district stated that Severtson’s arrest had nothing to do with its students.

Severtson also coached softball for the Colorado Styxx. Before coming to Cherry Creek, he coached at Heritage High School, Littleton High School, and Chaparral High School from November 2017 to August 2020.

Severtson was booked into the Arapahoe County jail on suspicion of felony criminal solicitation on Wednesday.

In the meantime, no charges have been filed against the accused, who is still held in custody pending further investigation.
