Camden, N.J.– Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man in Camden on Thursday evening, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.
On Thursday, July 7, 2022, at approximately 10:02 p.m., officers from the Camden County Metro Police Department responded to the 1900 block of South 8th Street, Camden, New Jersey, in reference to a ShotSpotter activation and 911 calls for an individual who was shot. Upon arrival at the scene, officers located a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Detectives from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and the Camden County Metro Police Department’s Homicide Unit responded to the scene and began an investigation.
The victim, later identified as Malik Nath, 19, of Camden was transported by police to Cooper University Medical Center. Nath was pronounced deceased by Dr. Chovanes at approximately 10:22 p.m. on June 7, 2022.
